Buying gear online is frustrating when you can’t see enough details to make an informed purchase. Youtube videos and reviews are helpful but sometimes there just aren’t enough clear shots of the important details. Our “Closer Look’ reviews attempt to bring out the details that are most important to me or missing in other reviews. Some items that are reviewed here have been provided at a discounted price in exchange for the written reviews. I will always give an honest opinion in the reviews on this site regardless of how the product was acquired.
This is a closer look at the Bucklite MAX knife, Buck #673
This knife is new to us and I haven’t had the opportunity to put it to much use yet. I’ve been carrying it for a few days at work and using it for general chores around the house and shop.
This is the smaller of two versions that Buck is offering. You can see the USA and part number. I was curious about the little symbol next to the part number so I called Buck customer service. They said it was a date code..this symbol indicates the knife was made in 2017.
Here are the specs:
- Blade Length: 3.25″
- Blade Thickness: .090″
- Blade Steel: 420HC
- Overall Length: 7.25″
- Weight with sheath: 3.9 ounces
Nicely contoured rubber handle along with decent jimping.
The sheath is solid. Quality materials, heavy nylon shell with a hard liner and good retention. I’m not bothered so much anymore by these types of belt sheaths since I’ve been carrying them below the belt-line as a dangler sheath for a few years now.
This knife is available on Amazon
or it can be ordered with custom engraving directly from the Buck website.
